Daisies and fishtail braids

Seeing beautiful images like this makes me wish I didn't lob my hair. Not that I would at all be skilled enough to plait fishtail braids so neatly, source miniature daisies and strategically pin them so they would stay, but a girl can dream.

Right now, I'm listening to Bon Iver's self-titled item. Does it set the mood to view the above image of what? Call me weird, but I can see the model just twirling around in her grey dress holding daisies in her hands.

Harper's BAZAAR Super September issue

Lucky subscribers will have already received the Super September issue of Harper's BAZAAR in the mail.  But for those non-subscribers, you don't have too long to wait as the insanely thick mag hits newstands tomorrow.

Here's a sneak peek of the mag, which has the brilliant Karlie Kloss  gracing the cover in shocking pink Gucci. I've been following Karlie's career since her Teen Vogue cover girl days and it's amazing to see that the girl is still so humble despite her successes.

Do you watch it?

It's been a good year and I'm still trying to figure out whether I'm a watch person.  I've been toying with the idea of getting a clear or white watch but there are always less practical things to waste my money on, like new shoes and bags.

The 'Yo!' Files: Yo, I could do with Chanel booties!

I mean, who couldn't?

The Row's debut handbag line

I used love to watch Full House after school when I was six or seven but I only remember one episode, it's the episode in which Michelle falls off a horse and both Olsen twins appear onscreen together and one twin is noticeably taller than the other. I was raised watching a rotation of films at After School Care - Aladdin, Mighty Ducks, Back to the Future and It Takes Two. The first and last films were the ones I enjoyed most.

The drive and ambition of the Olsen twins amazes me, they're another duo to add my list of those young peeps I respect.  They can do classic, they can do vintage, they can do homeless chic (whatever that is - but hey, they invented it so they obviously have it nailed).

I'm pretty damn bummed their debut handbag collection for The Row is only available at Barneys.  It is probably a good thing, how could one possibly be forced to choose from this collection of sleek and oh-so sophisticated options?

Emma Watson, the elfin beauty

It's no secret that I absolutely adore the gorgeous Emma Watson, so you imagine how excited I got when the August issue of Harper's BAZAAR UK landed on my desk this afternoon. The elfin beauty is one of the only young actors of our generation who I respect for both her personal and professional choices, although admittedly, who else is classy enough to demand even a tad of respect? The celebisphere is filled with Mileys, Parises and Kimmy Ks but there's only a handful of proper young ladies like E Watz, Dakota and lil' sister, Elle.

She is probably one of the reasons why I went to bed at 8pm on Tuesday night to wake up at 10pm to watch the midnight session of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.  Hmmm... maybe not. My love for the film franchise stems only from my love of the books but have you noticed how much her acting skills has improved from the days the poor acted with her eyebrows in The Goblet of Fire?  Didn't notice? This clip highlights my observations and takes it even further. Regardless of her previous tendencies to partake in the occasional constant bout of eyebrow-acting, I love this girl.

So now to the very important questions. Has anyone else seen the final HP film? And if you haven't, why haven't you? And if you have, what are your thoughts?  Did it make you laugh, cry, clap, cheer, groan and cringe like my HP obsessed self and my nineteen friends who I saw one of the first screenings in Oz with?

Proenza Schouler teal nom

When I stumbled upon this bag approximately one minute and thirty-seven seconds ago, there was only one word which came to mind - "nom".  For those like my brother and my thirty-something work colleague who both asked on two separate occasions, "What does nommy mean?" It means "nom" as in the sound you make when you're eating something delicious.

Yes, the PS1 is so delicious I want to eat it.  Especially this teal leather one. This lovely light aqua shade has always been a favourite colour of mine, the nib of my Faber Castell marker in a similar shade was destroyed within a few weeks of purchasing my 48 pen marker set back when I was nine.

I wonder how long satchel bags will be in vogue. The PS1, the Alexa and the numerous knockoffs, the list is endless, when are we going to see another IT bag shape? Don't get me wrong, I love my Alexa, I'm just curious that's all.

The 'Yo!' Files: Yo, blue shoes!

Marc by Marc Jacobs booties
I'm facing a rather huge dilemma.  Shopping ban ends Friday but why is it that whenever you cannot spend you see a million things that you must have?  I'm lusting after many, many pairs of shoes, but of course, I've got no munds (that's monetary funds). Damn the forces of the universe!

The Harry Potter countdown is on...

That's right, Australians, there's only nine days to go until the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II is in cinemas.  I actually couldn't be more excited!

Those of you who follow me on Twitter, have read my writing or actually know me in person, you would already be aware of the fact I am a mass-ive HP fanatic. You would also know how I love to fit in a Harry Potter reference whenever I can - whether appropriate or not. Call me a geek, but I don't care, I can't wait for the epic conclusion of the film franchise and I'm going to keep those lame Harry Potter jokes and references coming until I'm at the midnight screening on July 13. Weeee!

Sardines ahoy!

As you already know, I am well obsessed with toy cameras.  The Lomo Society launched their latest camera, the La Sardinia, last month and while I've been trying to resist, I really cannot stop myself from wanting these cutesy fish tins.

I know some people immensely dislike sardines.  I, however, have always not so secretly enjoyed them - that said, I haven't eaten them in around 10 years.  Perhaps it is why my eyes (not nose) are immediately drawn to these colourful (film) snappers?

Cranberry rebels

DVF Cranberry "Rebel" sandals

Diane makes the loveliest suede heels.  A colleague has an amazing pair of DVF's navy and I envy her every time she wears them.  Jess is understandably precious about them, she rarely wears the navy beauties as she doesn't want the suede to get ruined. But when she does take them out for a spin, boy oh boy, do the compliments flood in.
