Stomp stomp stomp

Clompity clomp clomp. Stompity stomp stomp.  These Alexander Wang Claudia cut-out ankle boots are now on sale.  The little details have won me over - nails on the side and the chunky heel.  Let's not forget, the contrast leathers which make these booties look super fierce.

Unfortunately, my snow cold European adventure requires closed toe boots, otherwise I would have clicked 'add to cart' long ago.

Miu Miu sparklers

These lovely sparkly things sit in the window of Miu Miu's Westfield Sydney store. Completely gorgeous, flashy and bootiful but where would one actually where them?

Sare Bear and I stood on the escalators taking us away the opened-toe wonders and dreamt of one day wearing them ourselves. But where would one actually wear these? We came up with a handful of places including premieres; fashion shows, launches and parties; balls and charity events. Nowhere, the average Joe, even the fashion loving average Joes like us would ever be spotted.

Regardless, we still long for them.  Cost per wear?  Like that would matter if they were actually ours!

Pump up the Acne (in a good way)

Who doesn't love a good sturdy heel?  I don't know about you but I completely lack balance which instantly rules out teeny tiny stiletto heels from my shoe collection.  These Acne Vega Pumps with their 2.5cm platform and 11.5cm heel are exactly what I need to give me that boost. No need to stand on my tippies if I had these chunky basics. But alas, size 36 is the smallest size Acne shoes are available in, curse having small feet!

The 'Yo!' Files: Yo, blue shoes!

Marc by Marc Jacobs booties
I'm facing a rather huge dilemma.  Shopping ban ends Friday but why is it that whenever you cannot spend you see a million things that you must have?  I'm lusting after many, many pairs of shoes, but of course, I've got no munds (that's monetary funds). Damn the forces of the universe!

Cranberry rebels

DVF Cranberry "Rebel" sandals

Diane makes the loveliest suede heels.  A colleague has an amazing pair of DVF's navy and I envy her every time she wears them.  Jess is understandably precious about them, she rarely wears the navy beauties as she doesn't want the suede to get ruined. But when she does take them out for a spin, boy oh boy, do the compliments flood in.

Dilemma: Keep or sell?

Lovely readers, you know me well. When I become obsessed with something, I simply need to have it.  Well, that's what happened with these ChloĆ« Sevigny for Opening Ceremony Nana Biscuit Tongue Boots.  I enthusiastically ordered them and now these lovely shoesies are now in my possession.  Yes, I was lucky enough to receive not one, but two of out of three of my online shopping orders today.

The problem with online shopping, however, is when you're teeny tiny like me, you don't really know if your purchases are going to fit you. I had a dream last night about these boots being too big for me and I was devastated when it turned out to actually be a premonition.  But my feet don't slide all too much in these size 6 babies when I wear them with really, really thick folded down bed socks like these.

So, tell me dear readers, what do you think I should do? Keep or sell them, as Opening Ceremony don't refund international orders - boo.

Let's go puddle jumping

I've been searching high and low, scouring the web and shop shelves but apparently peeps don't make leather flattie boots anymore. There are plenty of above-the-knee boots (thigh high boots on me), suede boots (I don't think designers realise it rains in winter) and an abundance of heeled boots - stiletto, block and wedged heels. You name the tall and impractical friend and she is there.

To all the boots and booties out there, you've let me down but I'm willing to compromise. I'm not asking for much here, I'm just in need a friend to keep my footsies warm.  I'm massive klutz, I admit it, and I accidently walk into puddles an awful lot. Perhaps you could have a word to your waterproof sisters to come out of hiding? I can only cope with having wet feet for so long.

The 'Yo!' Files: Yo, I'll show you my blue side

Michael Van Der Ham x Topshop wedges
I really should ban myself from looking at the shoes on the Topshop site.  Every time, even I just take a really short wee little browse, I fall in love with a pair.

A couple of weeks ago, I fell in love with the red version of these wedges from the normal Topshop range.  I wanted them so much I began to wonder whether there was a way I could make my feet grow (just a tad) or permanently balloon up so my size 5 footsies could magically fit into size 6 shoes.  Ridiculous? I know, but months ago I tweeted Topshop begging them to make size 5's and they didn't even acknowledge my request - #fail.

For some reason I found myself really desperate just to hold these red wedges.  Last Friday afternoon, I saw that they would be featured in this week's Grazia, I found myself so desperate that I asked a work colleague to "please buy them so I can live vicariously through you?" Her response?  "No, I'm too tall as it is." Booo.  Tomorrow, I'll try tempt Amanda with the midnight and cornflower blue alternatives.

Flat + Platforms = Flatforms

You've seen them on the Spring/ Summer runways at Prada, Derek Lam and Chanel but will you be wearing this latest trend? Flatforms practical and a hell of a lot more comfortable than wearing stilettos. They've been worn for centuries by beautiful geishas but you can pair with wide legged trousers for a '70s look (and noone will know you're vertically challenged) or sophisticated tweed dresses for a modern spin.  Kind to your feet and  kind to your back, it's no wonder fashionistas everywhere are embracing this trend.  So hurry or you be put on the dreaded wait list!

Yumorama wedges

Wedges served with a dollop of sour cream and sweet chilli sauce - it's the ultimate bar snack.  Now, the ultimate shoes to hit up the bars in?  Look no further, double wedge it with these this Autumn, then wear them with tights when the weather gets cooler.

Shoe happy

Elizabeth and James "Elisa" Open Toe Fringe Booties
I arrived back at my desk from a meeting on Thursday afternoon and a brown box was sitting on my desk.  YAY! I ran to get my scissors and opened the parcel.  Carefully wrapped up inside the shoe box were my beautiful Elizabeth and James "Elisa" Open Toe Fringe Booties.  Those Olsen girls really know their stuff.

These shoes are absolutely stunning.  The pebbled leather is lovely and soft, the feathers have been delicately sourced and fringing is perfect.  And I'm not usually a fan of fringing.  The best feature of the shoe?  Hands down, the 3cm hidden wedge heel.  Say it with me, AMAZING!

I've fallen in love with you all over again, Alexa Chung

"Williamsburg is sort of like my lover, whereas London is more like my husband. I love my husband, and I'll always be with him, but Williamsburg is so exciting" - Alexa Chung

You can't watch this video and tell me you don't like the lovely Alexa.  She's so endearing with that English accent of hers and oh-so self-deprecating.  The fact that she thinks so could possibly bore viewers is just simply insane. Oh, and she references The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.  I don't think anyone could be any cooler.

I must admit, Alexa, you went down a few notches in my book these past few months.  Your hair is currently kind of lacklustre, your outfits are more granny than glam. But after watching this video I'm in love again and it's just because we share a mutual love for The Picture of Dorian Gray.  When I heard you were hosting a new show, Thrift America, I thought there's no way I could like it at all.  Patience is a virtue that I don't have and when it comes to op-shopping, I certainly do not have patience. All that digging around to find something the perfect find that is even the right size? Not for me at all.

But Alexa, you've done it again and broadened the appeal of "thrift shopping" as you call it. Now, thanks to you, I want to go to Brooklyn even more. One store that sells Proenza Schouler PS1 and just around the corner a store that sells warm and fuzzy shearling coats, Burberry style?  That's my kind of place.

Check out Bird's website (the first store mentioned by Alexa). I'm torn between these two pairs of shoes.

And like an optometrist now I'm going to ask you, one or two? One or two.
