Hi, I'm Tiffany and I'm an online shopaholic

You've read about my obsession with online shopping on this blog and are probably sick to death of my tweets on this habit of mine.  Online shopping brings me and the rest of my office a whole lot of joy.  We crowd around each other's desks when parcels arrive and eagerly await for the recipient to rip them open.

A couple of friends have sought my advice and have asked which websites I go to when I shop online.  So today's the day I've decided to share with you my online shopping secrets.  Today is the day I decide to give back to you all for your continued support and bring some (online shopping) joy into your lives.

I love my new name

In fact it's so good I'm considering making the change official. And I don't just mean Facebook official.

Turning Japanese

There are many reasons why I wish I were Japanese.  I could dress as a Harajuku girl and play dress ups everyday.  I could still love Hello Kitty despite being 21 years of age without feeling shameful. I could also eat and perhaps even cook Japanese food each and every day.

In an average week, I probably eat Japanese three to four times a week.  Sushi, Udon noodles and Sashimi are all my diet staples.  Dinner is my favourite meal of the day and last night, I was in the mood for what I called "fancy Japanese."

Smart art

The Coolhunter, one of my favourite culture and design websites, just keeps giving.  Always inspiring and encouraging readers to think outside the square, their SMART ART album on their Facebook page does exactly that.

Song of the day/ week/ past three weeks

It's an oldie but a goodie.  For the past three weeks, I've been listening this tune on repeat.  It's keeping me sane.  And happy.  Why did I decide to delve into my music library and pick this particular track to listen to non-stop? Might have something to do with Yeasayer recently visit to Oz for Laneway Festival.

Ok, so I lie.  Occasionally I throw in this song into the one-track playlist to mix it up a bit.

Can you please make me a daisy chain?

How often do you see a field of daisies?  This photo was taken a couple of years ago on a very lazy Sunday.  It involved eating the greatest tasting brunch at a little cafe somewhere along the Northern Beaches. Memory is a strange thing.  I don't remember the intricate details - where this photo was taken or when.  I do, however,  remember climbing over the long grass to get amongst the daisies. I remember how warm it was that day and the strong smell of salt. I remember how later that day I kicked arse at Pirates Putt Putt.  And most of all, I remember how great it was to be young and carefree. I wish I made a daisy chain that day and worn it as a hippy band. Because that's exactly what I want to do right now.

Warm and fuzzies for you and your friends too!

This weekend's camera roll

And here's an subject appropriate accompanying track.  It was only Washington song I knew, and she didn't play it.

Things which made me smile

Fridays are supposed to be relaxed. It's almost the weekend and it's supposed to be cruisy. Lots of kids I know wrap up work at 4pm and have drinks in the office. Except if you work at a weekly magazine.  It's crazy manic, you have to make sure everything has gone to print by the 4pm deadline and then you have to stay back to make sure dyelines are A-OK so the mag can go on-sale on Monday.

Friday was a shocker for me but some little acts of kindness from some lovely friends brightened up my Friday night and the rest of my weekend.

Heath didn't complain once about me being half an hour late to meet her on Friday night. I left her waiting downstairs in the lobby, watching a wall of television screens all on mute while I was caught up at work. Ever so kind and understanding, she let me choose where we ate eat dinner.  Over pizza (the woodfire kind, of course) she listened patiently while I recounted my day for the 5th time.  I love you, Heather!

The amazingly sweet Shan offered to come shopping with me on Sunday after hearing about my Friday and then hearing me whine about my fail whale Saturday (I couldn't  find a pretty dress to buy). I didn't make her give up her Sunday, but probably would have if she had endless supply of money and a private jet so we could fly to Topshop, Zara and the rest of our favourite stores. It's seriously crazy how close the members of the Coordinators Club are. Despite the fact we all work in different departments, we still manage to see each other for a catch up almost everyday. Big hug to the Coordinators Club and espec. Shan for being so cool. And teaching me how to speak in Lolcats.

What else made me smile this weekend?
  • Scoring free tix to a Washington gig on Friday night.
  • Belle temporary bid the Coordinators adieu on Monday to go to Thailand with Channel V and be their next blog jockey.  When I woke up this morning I saw that the Coordinators made her 2nd Channel V blog. YAY!
  • Eating Himalayan chicken and papadums at Paddington Markets with Heather on Saturday.
  • Hearing two of my friends landed their dream jobs during the week! YAY!  Congrats to Bridgey and Emma!! They both had interned their arses off and have now been offered full-time positions.

May I buy you?

Just three minutes ago I discovered Aussie label, May and instantly fell in love with the designs.  The A/W 11 collection boasts the perfect mix of fun and flirty animal prints, school girl cheeky tartan and effortless t-shirt dresses.  Their current lookbook, beautifully modelled by Ruby Jean Wilson who first turned heads at last year's F/W RAFW, is filled with designs I just want to throw on.  The trouble is I just want to buy everything.

Here's my wishlist, all from my new fave Aussie label

E is for Excitement, D is for Devastation

Common experiences have the ability to bring together people who come from all walks of life.   One example is these common experiences is the excitement which overcomes pretty much everyone on a Friday morning. And then excitement once again when you receive an email which reads,
"Hi (insert name here), Happy Friday!!"

Friday discussions generally revolve around the plans of relaxation and debauchery that will talk place over the weekend.  But there is definitely is something else which people bond over more even more.  It is of course, pay day.

You can't help but feel joyous about having cashola appear in your bank account, regardless of how little or great that sum may be.  Pay days allow groups of friends, co-workers and even strangers to get together, mingle, eat and drink and generally have a good time.

Uh duh, but why the blog when all of this is totes obvs?  Here is how my week went from E is for excitement, P is for pay day to D is for devastation.

This whole week I was particularly looking forward to it being Friday because it just so happened to also be pay day. It also meant that I could purchase this super hot jacket which caught my eye the week  before. Throughout the week I checked Net-a-porter every day and every night to see that it was still is stock. Already in my shopping bag and ready to purchase, it was Thursday afternoon whilst I was having a very late lunch but very delicious Beef Sukothai when I saw this message appear on my screen...

It broke my heart and I'm still yet to recover.

Welcome back to the blogosphere!

My cute as a button bff, Jess, who I've previously written about has rejoined the blogosphere. Her first post is about Jean Shrimpton, 60's icon and model who set tongues wagging when she wore that mini skirt at the Melbourne Cup.

Check it out at Peas & Carrots.

I love The Naked and Famous

Follow my blog with bloglovin

New Zealand band, The Naked and Famous are doing remarkably well since their debut album launched in September last year.

You've no doubt have heard their single Young Blood, a global hit which has been featured on Gossip Girl and also provides the soundtrack to the current Strongbow advertisement

My pick from the album, Passive Me, Aggressive You is tune Punching In A Dream. You can't help but sing along.

Tweed up with Chanel S/S 11

Which girl doesn't love Chanel?

I'm loving the fun nature of Chanel's Spring/ Summer 2011 ad campaign starring Freja Beha Erichsen and Baptiste Giabiconi and shot by Karl Lagerfeld. Crazy fun, crazy beautiful and crazy inspirational.  Thanks Uncle Karl!

Reading is sexy

All the super chic girls do it

Rachel Bilson has a super hot jacket

... and I need to have it.

Hi Rachel,

You've worn this beautiful Vanessa Bruno jacket once, now it's time to hand it over.  As a celeb you simply cannot be caught wearing the same item of clothing again. People might think you don't have anything else to wear and how could you possibly maintain your status as a fashion icon? Come on now, just pop it into my Mulberry Alexa. I'll give you candy. I know you like candy because you confessed to doing so on Chelsea Lately. Do it and I promise we can both pretend this exchange never happened.

Update: I found Rachel Bilson's super hot Vanessa Bruno jacket and now I want it even more.

Mad ad of the moment

Kids are the cutest things in the world. They say the cutest things, do the cutest things and when they play dress ups, doesn't it just makes your heart burst with warm and fuzzies?

Take one look at this amazing ad by Volkswagen. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! I discovered it on the train to work this morning and it was the best start to the day.  You probably think I'm crazy because an advertisement made my morning, but if you don't appreciate it, you've truly got to be insane.

What can I say? You've got an instant winner when you reference a cultural icon like Star Wars. Well done Volkswagen.
