Tillie Divine

What a great casual chic bag.  I can see it having a good flop to it - which is most important in a casj* bag.

*Apparently this how you spell the abbreviation of "casual". Think it looks weird?  Don't blame me, blame Google.

Totes perfection

'Nuf said really.  Thanks Proenza Schouler.

Oh hello, Snappy!

At work today, a colleague asked how I carry my Alexa.  "Do you ever just carry it by the handle?" She asked.  My answer was a firm, "No".  I'm not one to strategically place bag on the knook of my arm,  I like to keep my hands free and sling my bag comfortably over my shoulder.

Last weekend, I borrowed a Louis Vuitton tote from my mother. These days, I alternate between my Alexa and my 2.55 bag, both bags with long straps that I found wearing a bag with short shoulder straps incredibly restrictive. You probably think I'm strange but yes, even after many years of carrying bags in this manner, my body was not used to it and it felt completely unnatural.

This is why I love Snappy (long strap but not a satchel or chain bag!). Features a long strap so you can sling it as you please. Win! And hopefully, it's not as heavy as Wanger's Rocco Duffel.

The Row's debut handbag line

I used love to watch Full House after school when I was six or seven but I only remember one episode, it's the episode in which Michelle falls off a horse and both Olsen twins appear onscreen together and one twin is noticeably taller than the other. I was raised watching a rotation of films at After School Care - Aladdin, Mighty Ducks, Back to the Future and It Takes Two. The first and last films were the ones I enjoyed most.

The drive and ambition of the Olsen twins amazes me, they're another duo to add my list of those young peeps I respect.  They can do classic, they can do vintage, they can do homeless chic (whatever that is - but hey, they invented it so they obviously have it nailed).

I'm pretty damn bummed their debut handbag collection for The Row is only available at Barneys.  It is probably a good thing, how could one possibly be forced to choose from this collection of sleek and oh-so sophisticated options?

Proenza Schouler teal nom

When I stumbled upon this bag approximately one minute and thirty-seven seconds ago, there was only one word which came to mind - "nom".  For those like my brother and my thirty-something work colleague who both asked on two separate occasions, "What does nommy mean?" It means "nom" as in the sound you make when you're eating something delicious.

Yes, the PS1 is so delicious I want to eat it.  Especially this teal leather one. This lovely light aqua shade has always been a favourite colour of mine, the nib of my Faber Castell marker in a similar shade was destroyed within a few weeks of purchasing my 48 pen marker set back when I was nine.

I wonder how long satchel bags will be in vogue. The PS1, the Alexa and the numerous knockoffs, the list is endless, when are we going to see another IT bag shape? Don't get me wrong, I love my Alexa, I'm just curious that's all.

The Marti b-pack

Alexander Wang Marti backpack
I've had my eye on the Alexander Wang Marti backpack for sometime.  It's not really practical is it but I think this particular style looks ultra-chic when slung on the shoulder.  Now, just to decide which colour I like best because I change my mind daily. No, scratch that, I'm saving right now. I'm calling it my 'shopping fast'.  'Fast' because if I'm to  grasp the concept of a ban I have think of it as if I'm being denied food.  Good thing I'm expecting three parcels to arrive in the three weeks and two days of my shopping fast that I have left (not that I'm counting down at all).

The 'Yo!' Files: Yo, I just bagged this baby!

I thought I had missed the boat, but as it turns out, I purchased 'the only one left'.  That fire truck red statement of urgency sure does work like a charm. I panicked like a mofo and ran for my Debit Mastercard as soon as it popped up on my screen. Especially after that earlier fright which made me groan, "Not again!" (See here and here), I was not going to take any chances.

What am I talking about? Oh, just this super chic thing.

Proenza Schouler vs Target: Copy cat satchels

Proenza Schouler PS1 bags
Proenza Schouler's PS1 messenger bag costs $1,995 while Target's Mossimo messenger bag costs $34.99.  The PS1 comes in an array of colours with new and delicious hues released every season in both suede and leather varieties, while the Target version is, well, made of PVC.

Proenza Schouler are disappointed that Target had the balls to copy their design, the "attitude" and "design" in particular, especially since they collaborated with the large retail giant a few years ago to produce a 65-piece collection.  But is there really an issue? We don't see Chanel whinging about the millions of chain bag knockoffs produced.

A satchel bag, is a satchel bag and they have existed for how long? Besides, is the girl who saves her pennies to buy a PS1 really going to walk into Target, let alone shop there and opt to buy the cheap pleather alternative?

I love Wang but Wang doesn't love me

Alexander Wang Mini Rocco in Oasis
Each and every season, I find myself lusting after the newest hue to join the Rocco and Diego clans.  This season, I'm in love with the Rocco in Oasis. When you're in love with Wang, you can't expect it to wait around forever. You don't have the time to consider whether you can actually afford it or think of when you can buy it as a reward to yourself.  If you wait too long, someone else is going to snatch up right before your very eyes.  I'm speaking from experience because it has happened to me. Twice.  Once again, that dreaded message popped up on my screen.

Guess who's back?

(Hint: It's not really Eminem, though he may very well be back and just forgot to inform me.)

But on a more serious note, let's see who the party is actually for...

Welcome back Sally!
The IT bag of 2009, the ChloĆ© Sally flap bag is back this S/S 11.  A celeb favourite, worn by the likes of two of my favourite brunettes,  Leighton Meester and Rachel Bilson, plus many more.  I wonder which celebs will be jumping on the Sally bandwagon this time round...
