I've experimented with dual-coloured manis and manis where I've only painted the tips of the nails. What else is there to do now but the combine the two ideas? This time, I've gone for more subtle look. I'm wearing a calming cornflower blue (Orly Snowcone) and a oh-so-luxe light jade hue (Chanel Nouvelle Vague) inspired by the colours of the ocean. And everytime I look at my nails I'm wishing away my winter blues and transporting myself to the Hayman Islands where the warm sun shines.

A dual coloured mani
I've always been a fan of a dual coloured mani. I usually alternate the colours but this is something different. I don't know if it's how Garance has captured the image which makes it so appealing or if the person's perfectly manicured nails. Props to whoever it is for their choice of colours. I love the contrast between the cool blue and tomato red. I'll try it out and no doubt I'll get crazy looks but who cares? Fashion and beauty are supposed to be fun form of self-expressions.
P.S. Don't you just love Garance's handwriting?

A Saturday arvo experiment
On Wednesday, I added four more nail polishes to my ever growing collection. You've read about it before and no doubt, you'll read about it again. Now, I present you with the proof. And before you ask, yes, I am well aware of the fact I only have ten fingers and ten toes.
Yesterday, Zoë Foster from Primped blogged about her little nail experiment which inspired my own DIY job. I stress the DIY part - I've never been any good at art, nor have I ever been very good with fiddly templates or tape, so please excuse my messy application.
So, what do you think? Are you inspired to conduct your own nail polish experiment?

If my ladies were nail polish...
I'm obsessed with nail polish. There, I said it. Happy now? I, apparently, am renown at work and within my circle of friends for my colourful nail polish collection. A colleague once said to me,
"I can just picture you every weekend, just sitting in front of the TV painting your nails. Is that all you do?"
FYI, it's not all I do. But I do to spend some of my Sunday nights doing exactly that.
Topshop has the most amazing make up collections out at the moment. It's a pity I'm rubbish at applying it because I love the range of spring brights and shimmery metallics. But it's always the nail polishes that catch my eye. I saw the below silver and blue combo and immediately though of Shan. And as I scrolled further and further down the page, the eye popping shades continued to remind me some other friends.
So here you have it, just a few of my favourite ladies if they were nail polish.

I wish I had thought of that
Have you ever read, seen or heard about a concept so absolutely amazing you wish you had thought of it yourself?
Here are three inventions which I had come across recently. I, myself, had long ago thought of these concepts but unfortunately didn't have the finances or means to action them *cough*. Alas, if only I had the creative capacity to actually come up with these super cool concepts.
1. Cake Pops: Cake/ lollipop hybrid. Heaven on a stick. Not just sugar, but substance to fill the stomach. Even if it's only for 15 minutes.

2. "Build/ design your own ______": Build your own bear, design your own bag and construct your own burger. I wish I had thought of them all. Today, I discovered The Counter, which allows you to do the latter. The concept? Upon entering you are given a clipboard as if you are a new patient to a medical centre. Instead of writing down what allergies you have, you tick off your burger ingredients options. If variety is what you're looking for, this is where you'll find it. The Counter boasts of over 312,120 burger combinations and the same two burgers are rarely made twice in one day!

3. OPI "Black Shatter" top coat: Pretty self-explanatory. It's a top coat for your nails which shatters so specks of your coloured nail polish beneath peeps through. Probably not everyone's cup of tea but isn't the technology amazing? You can even hear it crackle as the polish shatters.
